Zero-Knowledge Policy & Password Waiver

Your decryption keys are derived locally from your Sync Password. We do not store your raw password nor do we have the ability to reset it. If lost, your encrypted data is permanently unrecoverable.

1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility

By downloading, installing, or using the IDoSync mobile application (available on iOS, Android, and macOS) and associated services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use IDoSync. By creating an account, you self-certify that you meet this age requirement. We do not actively verify your age, but we reserve the right to terminate accounts found to belong to users under 16.

Legal Compliance

You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

2. App Store Acknowledgements (Apple & Google Play)

If you download IDoSync from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you acknowledge the following:

Parties

This agreement is concluded between you and IDoSync only, not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. IDoSync, not Apple or Google, is solely responsible for the App and its content.

Maintenance & Support

IDoSync is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services for the App. Apple and Google have no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services.

Third-Party Beneficiary

Apple, Google, and their subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple and Google will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

3. End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) & Zero-Knowledge Policy

IDoSync utilizes AES-256-GCM End-to-End Encryption for your synchronized payloads (clipboards, notifications, notebooks, contacts).

Your Responsibility & Data Loss Waiver

Your decryption keys are derived locally from your unique Sync Password. While your raw password is never stored on our servers, an encrypted master sync key is stored in our infrastructure to enable cross-device synchronization across your authorized devices. We do not have the ability to reset your Sync Password.

If you lose or forget your Sync Password (or Sync Master Key), your encrypted data becomes permanently unrecoverable. IDoSync holds absolutely no liability for data lost due to forgotten passwords, lost master keys, or compromised local device storage. You agree that you use this syncing service at your own risk.

4. License Grant & Acceptable Use

IDoSync grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes across your supported devices.

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service to transmit malicious code, viruses, or illegal content via clipboard or notebook sync.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or cryptographic architecture of the App.
  • Exploit the background sync infrastructure or IDoSync Keyboard (IME) to scrape data, spam, or perform automated tasks outside the intended cross-device syncing functionality.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, state, national, or international laws.

5. Subscriptions, Billing, & Cancellations

IDoSync offers premium features via auto-renewing subscriptions and in-app purchases.

  • Processing: All payments are processed entirely by the platform from which you downloaded the app (Google Play Store or Apple App Store). We use Qonversion.io strictly to validate your receipt status; we do not process or store your payment methods.
  • Auto-Renewal & Cancellation: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You must cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings or Google Play account settings. Deleting your IDoSync account or uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel your billing.
  • Refunds:Because Apple and Google handle all transactions, IDoSync cannot issue direct refunds. Refund requests must be routed through the respective app store's customer support and are subject to their specific refund policies.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. IDoSync expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that your clipboards, notifications, or notes will sync instantly, accurately, or without interruption (e.g., IDoSync is not liable if a critical time-sensitive notification fails to mirror to your other device due to OS battery optimization or network failure).

In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple or Google, and they may refund the purchase price (if any) for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple and Google have no other warranty obligations whatsoever.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall IDoSync, its developers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data (including lost E2EE keys), or goodwill, resulting from:

  • (i) your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service;
  • (ii) any unauthorized access to your locally cached E2EE data resulting from physical device theft or malware on your personal device.

Product Claims: IDoSync, not Apple or Google, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims or consumer protection claims.

8. Termination

You may terminate this agreement at any time by deleting your account via Profile tab > Profile row > Delete Account and uninstalling the app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms (such as abusing the sync infrastructure or violating the age restriction).

Deleted items are retained in the Recycle Bin for 30 days, after which they are permanently and automatically deleted.

9. Regional Consumer Rights (EU/UK & California)

EU/UK Users (Statutory Right of Withdrawal)

Under EU/UK law, consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases. However, by purchasing an IDoSync premium subscription, you consent to immediate access to the digital content and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service begins. Disputes can be submitted to your local consumer protection authority or the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

California Residents

Under Cal. Civ. Code § 1789.3, you may report complaints to the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs by contacting them in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112 Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
